Cookie and storage policy

What Aqaryo stores on your device.

Aqaryo uses essential sign-in cookies and requested preferences. It does not currently set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Analytics is configured without persistent browser identifiers.

Cookies are small records placed on a device. Similar rules can apply to local storage and other ways of remembering information. This page describes Aqaryo’s current setup, including what is not used.

01

Essential sign-in and security cookies

When you choose to sign in, Auth.js uses a first-party session cookie to keep that account signed in and security cookies to complete the Google or Apple flow. These may include callback, CSRF, nonce, state and PKCE values. They are necessary for the requested account service and cannot be switched off within Aqaryo.

The database-backed session normally lasts for up to 30 days without activity unless it is renewed or cleared sooner. Short sign-in security values generally expire within minutes. Signing out ends the server session.

02

Language, market and currency preferences

Aqaryo may use the NEXT_LOCALE first-party cookie to remember a language choice. It uses browser local storage for aqaryo-country, aqaryo-display-currency and aqaryo-exchange-rates so the requested market and price display survive navigation and reloads.

The exchange-rate cache is refreshed during use and ignored after 24 hours. These preferences do not follow you across unrelated websites. Clearing site data in your browser removes them.

03

Measurement and diagnostics

Vercel Web Analytics provides aggregated, cookieless measurement. PostHog is configured with memory-only persistence: events may be sent during the current visit, but Aqaryo does not ask PostHog to leave a persistent identifier in cookies or local storage. Sentry records technical errors and limited performance traces; session replay is disabled.

These services can still receive network and device information needed to deliver or secure a request. They are described in the privacy policy even where no cookie is stored.

04

External services

Choosing a Google or Apple sign-in, opening WhatsApp, using an email or phone link, loading a map or visiting another website can allow that provider to use its own cookies or storage under its policy. Aqaryo does not control storage set after you leave or directly interact with an external service.

05

Your controls and future changes

Your browser can show, block or delete cookies and site data. Blocking essential sign-in storage may prevent account features from working, while public browsing remains available without an account.

If Aqaryo introduces advertising, cross-site tracking or another non-essential persistent technology, we will update this policy and provide a consent choice before use where required. Contact hello@chewybytes.com with questions about the current inventory.
